In June 2005, we visited Lykia World for the second time. We lived in Turkey at the time and were looking for a good location on the Med.{mosliteadsense4joomla ad_align=left}The rest of the resorts in the area looked to be too crowded and noisy. Lykia World was big enough to allow us to do whatever we wanted, from aerobics to para-sailing to scuba. For us, scuba was important. The scuba centre was first class but we had to look out for the local resort doctor who provided medical certificates because we suddenly discovered that our blood pressure was too high to dive and it turned out that the doctor was looking for a bribe! In contrast to the resort doctor though, the dive sites were great and the staff very friendly and helpful.
The selection of food available at mealtimes was excellent but we had grown accustomed to Med type food, so it was good for us but perhaps not the best for someone looking for just a burger and fries(there was only one restaurant that provided burgers). The first time we went to Lykia World, we drove from Istanbul, about nine hours away. The second time we flew into Doloman, rented a car and drove the rest of the way to Lykia World. It's one of the best resorts we've seen for families however, the privacy that the Lykia World Residence provides is also very nice for those without kids. The evenings were the best time for us because we liked to check out the variety of restaurants in the resort, where the service was superb and we never had a bad meal! The sunsets were absolutely stunning. Afterwards, we could relax at one of the pool bars or take in the entertainment. One piece of advice though, if you pick a room overlooking one of the main pools, be prepared to be serenaded until at least 11 PM. A quick fix is to bring ear plugs. All-in-all, Lykia World is definitely worth exploring and good value for the money. We will go back again! Liked: Friendly staff and room cleanliness Disliked: Nothing Tips/Secrets: Kids? Stay at the Village. No Kids? Stay at the Residence. Tenebris Location: Brussels |
